Executive Director of Get Lit Words Ignite, Diane Luby Lane, judged Poetry Out Loud’s recitation contest in Sacramento. Other esteemed judges included Bernard Boudreaux, Group Manager of Community Relations for Target; Malissa Feruzzi Shriver, Chair of the California Arts Council; Al Young, Poet Laureate of California (2005-2008); Brandon Cesmat, past president of CA Poets in the Schools and Ro Bettencourt, 2008 Poetry Out Loud winner. Over 40,000 students participate in this national recitation of poetry contest.“It was an honor to hear classics recited so beautifully!
