What can you do when the classics start getting stale? If you’re an electric young writer like Raul Herrera, you make them your own. DANTE, Herrera’s theatrical hip-hop adaptation of Dante’s Inferno, is set to premier on Thursday, July 6. This revolutionary update twists the classic narrative into the story of a modern kid from South LA, who must fight to overcome all the city’s hellish obstacles on his path toward a meaningful life. DANTE features performances from Get Lit’s own Literati Fellows, and has been created thanks to the efforts of Diane Luby Lane and Tim Robbins. The show runs Thursday (8pm), Friday (9pm), and Saturday (8pm) evenings from July 6 – July 29. To see the revolution for yourself, reserve your tickets at Join the #LiteraryRiot too, at!
