Everyone at Get Lit is inspired by all of the students and teachers who are creating magic amidst mayhem, and we are here to offer classes of our own!

Whether you want to be part of an ongoing community through the Emerging Writers Fellowshiplearn the basics of filmmaking, or just ‘drop in’ to our weekly Saturday classes, we have something for you.

As always, our classes are free and open to all young people (ages 13-19) who are interested. Tell your friends, your family, and your family group chat!

The Get Lit curriculum — including participation in the Classic Slam, mentor visits from Get Lit teaching artists, dynamic lesson plans, and so much more — is also available for purchase for the 2020/2021 school year. More information below!

Get Lit is here to help! See you soon!
(Please email colleen@getlit.org & kelly@getlit.org with any questions)

Through the Get Lit curriculum, students “claim” a classic poem (anyone from Maya Angelou to Tupac), and write an original spoken-word response. The curriculum is a deep-dive into project-based learning, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills to help students become exceptional readers, writers, and performers.
