Abigail Erazo

"I am a mosaic of everyone I have ever loved, even for a heartbeat."

Abigail Erazo is a 20-year-old Salvadorean-American LA-born and raised student and award-winning creative. At 10, her dream was to be a veterinarian, but as she found the world of literature her mind fell into bringing literary light into her community.


Abby’s first major accomplishment was performing at Get Lit’s Annual Gala in December 2022 alongside phenomenal poets such as J. Ivy, H.E.R., and Los Angeles’ Poet Laureate, Lynn Thompson. Abby has also contributed and performed a poem at the Kidsave Gala in June 2023. In September 2023, she was a featured poet at Café Con Libros Open Mic, invited by Pomona’s Poet Laureate, Ceasar Avelar. Abby has reached many of her dreams through her writing including sharing the stage with her all-time favorite poet, Yesika Salgado, at the Musica y Poemas event in October 2023, invited by council member Eunisses Hernandez.


Academically, Abby has demonstrated exceptional performance, earning a spot on the Dean’s Honor List three times along with the President’s Honor List in June 2024, awarded by Dr. Nicole Albo-Lopez and the LACCD Administration. Abby is an English major as she was philosophically influenced by the power of ink to society. While majoring in English, Abby has a deep passion for communications and education. She has been attending Los Angeles Pierce College and will be graduating in June of 2025.


Abby lives by the quote, “I am a mosaic of everyone I’ve ever loved, even just for a heartbeat”(Hannah Hassler). She believes in doing everything with passion and an open mind ready to learn. Abby’s passion for community and literature has influenced her need to continuously engage with diverse perspectives, foster meaningful connections, and contribute to the enrichment of her community through her creative and literary pursuits.


When she is not working, you can find her in a nook eating a sandwich with a matcha latte while watching Desperate Housewives for the drama on Wisteria Lane.
