Ashley Tahay (she/her) is an LA-based Guatemalan American writer and spoken word poet. She has performed her poetry for hundreds of students across the Los Angeles School District, sharing the power of words and storytelling. She was part of Get Lit’s Classic Slam, the largest poetry slam in the world, in 2023 where she received the title of top-scoring poet of the night. She has continued to perform with the Get Lit and other organizations such as Latino Outdoors, ABC (Alliance for a Better Community), Born This Way Foundation, Harness (founded by America Ferrera), and Senator Butler’s Office. She is a student at Pierce Community College studying Political Science. Ashley is always learning new skills, never forgetting her central goal of amplifying the voices of those around her through the art of storytelling in all mediums that surround her.
Ashley Tahay (ella) es una escritora guatemalteca-estadounidense y poeta de palabra hablada que vive en Los Ángeles. Ella ha presentado su poesía para cientos de estudiantes en todo el Distrito Escolar de Los Ángeles, compartiendo el poder de las palabras y la narración. Fue parte del Classic Slam de Get Lit, el slam de poesía más grande del mundo, en 2023, donde recibió el título de poeta con mayor puntuación de la noche.
