"I wanna live like I mean it.”
Rain Miller is a 17 year old Jamaican-Canadian artist on a journey to make it big in sunny Los Angeles! Originally from Toronto, Ontario, she packed her bags and moved to LA in 2018 with her mom and little brother. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of creativity and inspiration! Rain's artistic adventure kicked off early, thanks to her incredible mom. She started by diving into the world of music videos and song production, where she got to play creative director, lighting expert, and all-around artistic helper. From a toddler making art pieces for her mom to experimenting with collages, oil painting, and even sculpting as a teen, creativity has always been her happy place.
During my high school years, Rain fully embraced the vibrant art community here in LA. Whether it was working with Artworks LA painting schools, setting up events, or creating eye-catching posters, she was in the thick of it! Being voted “Best Artist” at her middle school was such an honor, and she was thrilled to win the “Best High School Animation” award at the 2023 red carpet event “Making Films That Matter” for her paper stop-motion film. But wait, there’s more! Music has a special place in her heart, too. Rain loves playing the ukulele and guitar and she’s even teamed up with her mom on some fantastic songs pitched to big names like Brandy. While music is a joyful hobby for her right now, she is excited to see where it takes her in the future!
Rain is all about spreading positive vibes and self-care, trying to embrace her spiritual side while the world calls her crazy, and sharing lots of laughs with those around her. Frogs are another little passion of hers—she feels there’s just something so whimsical about them! Currently, Rain is a part of the non-profit organization Get Lit, where she is building connections, soaking up knowledge, and chasing her creative dreams.
