Vanesa Trejo is a first generation Mexican American from Dallas, Texas. From a young age, Vanesa developed a deep passion for visual art. She spent her childhood drawing and painting, often giving away her artwork to her friends and family. When Vanesa was in highschool, she watched Disney Pixar’s Coco and felt deeply inspired. Seeing her culture reflected in the beautiful visuals on screen sparked a realization that she could use her talents and do the same one day. From then on, Vanesa decided to follow her passion through pursuing a career in film and television production.
She graduated last year from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Arts and Entertainment Technologies and studied abroad with the department of Film & Television at the University of Bristol in England. During her last semester of school, Vanesa moved to Los Angeles with hopes to break into the entertainment industry focusing on animation and post-production.
Vanesa has experience in the film industry with DreamWorks Animation, receiving her first feature film credit as a production intern on The Wild Robot (2024). She has also worked with New Cadence Productions, a production company based in LA focused on increasing Latino representation in Hollywood. She has gained experience in marketing with the Austin Film Society, a non-profit film organization in Austin, Texas where she edited indie film trailers and at C3 management, a music management company where she followed marketing trends and edited social media content. Vanesa is also deeply passionate about education, and has taught art to children in both schools and non-profit organizations.
Some of Vanesa’s favorite art mediums include acrylic painting, animation, and video editing. During her free time, Vanesa enjoys bike riding and reading celebrity autobiographies. Art is and will always be a huge part of her life, and she is committed to pursuing it for the rest of her life.
