Caprice Young
Dr. Young is a transformational CEO who began her career in public finance and technology and then became an internationally recognized education technology leader. She has over 25 years of proven leadership in board and C-level roles of organizations with budgets up to $8 billion, serving over one million students. In addition to being a thought leader in this field, she is a Qualified Financial Expert and a CFA Certified Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Investor. She has been responsible for more than $3 billion in public bonds and commercial paper, founded three successful start-ups, and served as the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education president.Dr. Young was recently tapped to be CEO and Superintendent of Navigator Schools, the highest-performing public schools on California’s Central Coast, with a mandate to open new schools. Before that, she was the President of the Education Growth Group, a consulting firm guiding a portfolio of innovative education technology companies and others, including Pearson, Banc of California, Subject, iLEAD Public Schools, 2Sigma, Clymb, the Edge Foundation, and Get Lit: Words Ignite. Dr. Young's leadership experience spans multi-state and international operations, technology, finance, audit, mergers and acquisitions, government, crisis management, and philanthropy. She is a nationally recognized education technology CEO who consolidated and sold KC Distance Learning, the digital curriculum and online schooling subsidiary of Knowledge Universe, a formerly publicly traded Fortune 500 company. Dr. Young currently serves on the boards of the Fordham Foundation and Institute (Audit and Revenue Committee), the Larta Institute (Compensation Committee), EverDriven (ESG Committee), and Olivela.com.She received the Coro Crystal Eagle for Excellence in Public Service, the California State University Los Angeles Distinguished Educator of the Year Award, and the National Charter School Hall of Fame membership.
