From the San Gabriel Valley, Tlapiani Olguin-Aguilar writes about her identity as a woman of color, Mexican culture and her mental health. This year Tlalpiani has been a part of the Classic Slam, with her Scratch team performing in the Dynasty Typewriter theater. She was also a part of the Emerging Writer's Fellowship program at Get Lit.
